Death-Defying Stunt 3,000 Feet Above the Ground

Walking a tightrope and maintaining your balance itself is an amazing accomplishment that takes tremendous skill and concentration. Ever thought about what it would be like to up the ante? That's exactly what 23-year-old Mich Kemeter does, similar to tightrope walking, but the rope is loose and bouncy, instead of taut, and elevated at extreme locations. He decided to highline without a harness at Yosemite National Park at 3,000 feet above ground. Kemeter walked 82 feet of rope three times with a safety harness attached to his ankle; he removed it on his fourth time. Midway through the walk, he even knelt to pray. Amazing Book Tower

The hall of the main library in Prague is dominated by a giant tower of books - a monument made out of old novels from the library by Slovak artist Matej Kren. It rises more than 5m in the air. In the bottom, there is a mirror, creating the effect of a deep, deep well of wisdom. A sight that is hidden for most tourists, but very, very impressive.

Heartbroken dog

A video of a dog in a small village in China has the web buzzing about his devotion.  When 68-year-old Lao Pan died earlier this month, the only surviving member of his family was a small yellow dog that he left behind.  His little companion has refused to leave his burial site since his owner's death.  When villagers noticed the dog lingering around the grave, they began bringing him food and water since he had not eaten in a week.  Some villagers even tried to coax the dog away and back to the village, but he always finds his way back to the grave site.  Now villagers are planning to build the dog a kennel near the site where his owner is buried.  Social media is loving this dog.  People have been tweeting that this story is "heartbreaking," and saying that it made their heart smile and cry simultaneously.

Octopus caught walking on dry land

Check out this video of an octopus literally crawling out of the water and dragging itself across dry land in pursuit of a meal. A family with a camera and captured the whole thing on video. Scientifically explained, apparently walking on land in the octopus kingdom is not as unique as you might think. Octopuses in captivity actually escape their watery enclosures with alarming frequency. While on the move, they have been discovered on carpets, along bookshelves, in a teapot, and inside the aquarium tanks of other fish. However, it's quite unusual to capture video of a walking octopus in action.

This is a painting completed in February 2005. It probably took a total of around 65-75 hours to complete. The small images are step by step photographs taken during the painting process, and the large image is the final painting after detail and skin texture are added with an eraser and colored pencil. The main colors are blocked in at the beginning, but refinement is withheld until the very end.

World's longest neck

The longest recorded human neck reached 40 cm in length and was created by the successive fitting of copper coils, as practiced by the women of the Padaung or Kareni tribe of Myanmar as a sign of beauty. Their necks eventually become so long and weak that they cannot support their heads without the coils. According to tribal custom, even before they reach puberty, girls must start wearing iron coils around their necks and more and more are added through the years. In some tribes the coils are removed to punish women who have committed adultery.

Intelligent Cutlery

If you are conscious about how much you eat, then get IC3, the intelligent cutlery. It’s made-up of a computerized handle and 3 interchangeable eating tools: a fork, a knife and a spoon, each with their own special features. The fork measures food composition, such as fat, sugar or protein levels, the spoon weighs your bites and the knife acts as a thermometer, taking temperature readings from your food. Together these three do a great job of replacing the normal nutritionist.
