New Zodiac signs

If you're the type of person who relies on mysterious-sounding locations of stars to determine your personality and outcome in life, get ready to be shocked.

The field of astrology, which is concerned with horoscopes and the like, felt a major disruption from astronomers, who are concerned with actual stars and planets. The astronomers from the Minnesota Planetarium Society found that because of the moon's gravitational pull on Earth, the alignment of the stars was pushed by about a month. It turns out that astrology has had issues from its inception. Ancient Babylonians had 13 constellations, but wanted only 12, so threw out Ophiuchus, the snake holder. Libra didn't even enter the picture until the era of Julius Caesar.

Now that astronomers at the Minnesota Planetarium Society have redefined the zodiac calendar, former Sagittarians and Capricorns born between Nov. 29 and Dec. 17 are buzzing about the unknown implications of their new sign. The constellation Ophiuchus represents a man wrestling a serpent, dividing the snake's body in two parts.  It is the only sign of the zodiac linked to real men, sharing traits with Imhotep, a 27th century BCE Egyptian doctor, and biblical Joseph. Like Imhotep, Ophiuchus is considered a healer of men and a doctor of medicine or science. He seeks higher education and enlightenment. He is expected to achieve a high position in life.

Ophiuchus
Here’s the new zodiac signs:

Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16.
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11.
Pisces: March 11-April 18.
Aries: April 18-May 13.
Taurus: May 13-June 21.
Gemini: June 21-July 20.
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10.
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16.
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30.
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23.
Scorpio: Nov. 23-Nov. 29.
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17.
Sagittarius: Dec. 18- Jan. 20.

"This is not something that happened today. This has gone on for thousands of years. Because of this change of tilt, the Earth is really over here in effect and Sun is in a different constellation than it was 3,000 years ago." says Astronomer Parke Kunkle.

However, we have to say, we've always enjoyed being a Libra, it suits our personality very well. So we aren't sure we're ready to be a Virgo. And do you know any Ophiuchuses?. Don't panic, horoscope fans. The Ophiuchus constellation is used by astronomers while astrologers chose not to include it.
