Balamurali Ambati from India became the world’s youngest doctor at the age of 17. Ambati graduated from New York University at the age of 13 and Mount Sinai School of Medicine at age 17, becoming the world's youngest doctor in 1995. He completed an ophthalmology residency at Harvard University. Currently, Dr. Ambati is Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences & Director of Corneal Research at the University of Utah School Of Medicine. Balamurali wrote a book on AIDS with his brother, who is also a doctor.
